Course Description:

This course introduces the methodology of environmental impact assessment (EIA) as a vital tool for sound environmental management and decision-making. The course provides an overview of the concepts, methods, issues and various forms and stages of the EIA process. The various stages of the EIA process, such as screening, scoping, EIA document preparation, public involvement (in some countries), review and assessment, monitoring and auditing, Environmental Management Program, appeal rights and decision-making are examined.
